Early Transport
Many coaches travelled through Deans Marsh on their way to and from Lorne. Two companies, Mountjoys and Cobb & Co. had stables in Deans Marsh. At the peak of coach travel (1890's) as many as 90 horses per day were fed at the Mountjoy stables and 45 were stabled overnight.
